has anyone ever tried to use the kitchen aid silicone cupcake pans to make mini pies in?
thought some one could give me some ideas how thin to roll out dough, cooking time and so on.

- Mini pies would work just fine in the silcone pan. I have one myself. Try to use the pre-made dough in the freezer/fridge section of the grocery store. Since it is supposed to be made in a larger quantity, it is a good idea to roll out the dough, increasing it's size by about 1/4 of the whole. Fill very lightly with filling, as the crust will rise a lot, and there is a tendancy to spill over. If you hit up Walmart, they have "giant cupcake" pans in the craft cake decorating section. These would be more appropriate for your baking project. Good luck!
