what's the difference between a blender and a smoothie maker?

i'm looking to buy a blender to make smoothies, cocktails and other thing but i've seen a smoothie maker which looks exactly the same what the main difference apart from the name?

5. The main difference is the fact that a smoothie maker has a tap at the bottom. Otherwise, they are one and the same thing.
