My kitchen aid liquefier blows the top off every time that I try to mix soup. Why?
Is it because I'm trying to liquefy a hot soup? It hasn't done it before but after 3 times of cleaning my kitchen (don't lol) I thought I should ask someone. Generally we just use it to crush ice for cocktails so I'm still a novice on using it for bona-fide cooking tasks.

- forget soup!
- Yes it is because you are using a hot liquid. Try only filling the mixer no more than half full and start with the mixer on the slowest setting with the lid slightly cracked open. You can then slowly increase the speed to get the consistency you desire. If you have more liquid, simply repeat until your entire soup is ready.
- you need to put the lid on :)
- lol...sorry for laughing but I can just picture the mess...its happened to me too!......you need to let the soup cool a bit...if its too hot, when you start to 'whizz' it, a lot of steam comes off the liquid, it builds up and off pops the top....but you can always cover your hand with a small towel and hold the lid on......also try to put less liquid in if its hot....
- It's a Blender not a liquifier. Putting a lid on something that is hot is dangerous. The steam needs somewhere to escape. If it doesn't go somewhere it builds Pressure. I'm sure the recipe says to let it cool a bit first. You have a couple of options: Let it cool for a few minutes, then blend then put it back into the pot to reheat. Don't fill as full and then, also leave the little part of the lid that come out, off. Cover that loosely with a clean kitchen towel.
