- I have a smoothie just about every morning. I just use plain soy milk and add organic frozen fruit like strawberries, blueberries or banana's. Then I add 8 small ice cubes and blend. I also add 2 Tbls. of flax meal but that isn't necessary. I loooove chocolate, so sometimes I use chocolate soy milk, ice and extra chocolate syrup. I also add half a frozen banana.

- Don't know why people are sayuing frozen fruit here, surely the point of making a smoothie is you get to use the fresh stuff! Generally banana is a good base as it's sweet and thick, add some strabs, grapes and a splash of vodka if you're in the mood for refreshment. Hoo-har!

- I got a smoothie maker recently as well and found that some recipes either work, or they definitely do not! lol. All the most successful recipes, I have found, include some sort of fruit juice as the base of the smoothie and from there anything goes really! A extraordinarily simple yet fantastic idea is just milk (or yoghurt) with a few strawberries and rasberries thrown in. Another option is just to crush some ice and mix with a fruit juice - the simple ideas always turn out to be the best!
- Natural yoghurt, peaches/nectarines, strawberries and raspberries. You can't go wrong with that. Yummy!

- I'm surprised that there was not a receipe book in the purchase. I noticed cheap books in a bookshop, and they had a multitude of receipes. It would be difficult to give receipes in this column, because of space, however bananas are frequently used.
