what is the difference between a smoothie maker and a blender??
Public Comments
- about £20 (35$)
- nothing really as they both puree fruit, only a smoothie maker has a tap on it to pour the fruit out.
- Yes, the price. Also, smoothie makers tend to have a little tap at the bottom so the drink comes out there rather than using it like a jug.
- Nothing really..... smoothie makers have a nozzle and you can put your glass under and the juice pours out rather than having to pour from a blender. Thats the only difference.
- simple none just one is dearer than the other
- The former is only after sex while the latter just wants to socialise.
- i say the price
- Choosing the Right Blender for Smoothies You will find that standard home blenders don’t have the power to blend vegetables and coarse fruits to a smooth consistency. So if you use your home blender your smoothies will not be as tasty as they could be.
- Money, they both can do the same job....
- Smoothie maker only chops fruit & liquids mainly,a blender blends food
- I always felt it was the power to be albe to grind up the fruits, whereas a blender just blends
- Smoothie makers blade set up is different and the motor is capable to handle crushed ice. A smoothie uses crushed ice in it's mixture and most blender's motors do not have the power capacity to crush ice or the blade quality for it unless it specifically says so on the blender. Plus, manufacturers can get you to buy one easier if by putting a specific name on it and selling everything as individual pieces of small appliances rather than making an appliance that does it all. They wouldn't sell as much that way and wouldn't make as much money off the consumer.
- apart from the price nothing they do the same thing
- Smoothie blender has a tap, costs a lot more - buy a blender. They are so versatile.
- Nothing really, just an excuse to have another appliance sitting on the kitchen counter. Stick with your blender and save yourself some money.
- often wondered the same thing at the end of the day the only difference seems to be marketing. smoothies are still very trendy at the moment which means products marketed for this purpose can fetch a higher price. buy the cheaper one it will do just as well.
