What is the point of buying a juicer when there are blenders?
does an orange peel have any nutrients? wise to eat it(or blend it in a smoothie?)? Did I hear right that turning your fruit into juice is not as good for you as chewing it due to the activation of some of the good nutrients?

- there is a totally different texture, and when juicing, you can usually juice the whole fruit. if you put a cut up orange with peel still on, i think the pith would make it bitter. it's better to eat fruit whole, or in a smoothie made with a blender because then you get the fiber. you do not get that with juice.
- Juicer separates the husks from the juice and in other big scale corporations/factories in advanced countries, husks are processed to be fertilisers for the country. Juices extracted separatedly are hygenically packed in vacum tetra-packs to be exported to international market for national revenue while the remaining fruit/vege husks will enter another machine, not to be disposed but processed into fertilisers for export markets for worldwide plantations and farmers demand, which will not attract flies, from what Andy Thoo Wai Kiat from facebook.com preceived. Whereas blenders have the mixture of fruit juice mixed together with husks and they may be consumed after the filtering and manpower to separate the husks from the juice mixed together in a thicker husk and juice compound mixed together as your finished product which is time consuming and take longer hours for sqeezing the juice out of the husks and drying up husks also will take a longer time since husks are not dried by the spinning motor of the juicer
- When you have a juicer, you only get the juice (no pulp, no peel, no seeds, etc...) and it can only do that. A blender is capable of making mixed drinks, milk shakes, and smoothies. However, it does not have a filter, so anything you put into it you will drink, like the seeds. Also, orange peel is ok to eat, but if you really want the flavor, you should just use the zest instead of the whole peel.
- A juicer usually gets rid of the seeds, and also you can set it to leave or get rid of pulp. No luxury with a blender on that one, and the seeds usually cause the tines to get dull. Orange peels having nutrients? I don't know.
- cuz i used my blenders to blend chillies with garlic and onion. I can't make OJs with that blender...ru kidding? Orange peel--best used in cakes. blend it will give a little orange oil flavor to the food/drink!
