What small kitchen appliances do you use on a routine basis?

today as compared to the ones you used as a child? We had a toaster, percolator, electric mixer, later a crock pot, blender, and much later a microwave. Today, microwave oven, Foreman grill, coffee maker, toaster, crock pot, rice cooker, blender. Rarely use the electric mixer and still use the same one I got for a wedding gift 35 years.

  1. The COFFEE MAKER, hands down. I would die without my coffee.
  2. Okay, I'm only 35, so my childhood was only 20 years or so ago. I'd have to say I had everything then I have now, except for all the contrivances are digital now (dishwasher, microwave, and oven). My can opener keeps coming to mind though (lol). It is one of those can openers that make the edges of cans smooth, so they don't cut you.
  3. I have a juicer that I use several times a week. Living in California has its advantages. We can always get fresh oranges and there's nothing like fresh squeezed o.j. for breakfast.
  4. Coffee maker, microwave, blender, veggie chopper, toaster, electric stove, refrigerator, bread maker, rotisserie, yogurt maker, George Foreman Grill and 2 speed hand blender. We also use a stove top pressure cooker.

  6. I use my microwave quite a bit. First thing in the morning I put in a cup to heat up water for my instant coffee. Later in the day I'll heat up water for tea. In the evening I'll put my bowl of ice cream in for about 4 seconds to just soften it. Not a day goes by that I don't use my microwave.

  8. Did not have kitchen gadgets when I was young (well we did have a mincer that you clamped onto a table). I do remember the day when my mother brought home her first food mixer (Early Kenwood Chef). Oh but we were in awe of how much time it saved, and what a good job it did. Now, I am just glad you did not ask how many gadgets I have in my kitchen!!! The ones I use most are the coffee maker, crock pot, microwave, electric mixer. Beulah
  9. Coffee maker beyond anything else. After that, the fastest and the slowest are my favorites - the microwave and the crock pot. The coffee makers we keep simple and cheap - just want a timer so its ready when we get up - but what a luxury that is. The appliance that's lasted the longest is the Kitchenaid mixer I splurged on 20 years ago - still works and looks just like it did the day I bought it. What a difference from the hand cranked egg beater of my childhood.

  12. The coffee maker is my #1 appliance I use several times a day, and the dishwasher is another one I really wouldn't want to do without. I could live without a microwave (I only use it to reheat and defrost). I also do a lot of baking and make homemade pasta so I have to say I would hate to part with my Kitchen Aid stand mixer and pasta machine attachment!
  13. I cannot make it through the day without my coffee maker. My new pannini maker is in use at least 5 times a week. I love it.
  14. Microwave, toaster, coffee bean grinder and coffee pot are used every day. Next would be my forman and other indoor grill followed by blender for smoothies plus my small electric chopper for nuts and onions. Once in a while I use my crock pot, rice cooker and stand mixer. I have these stored in order of their use. The first group is on my counter top, the second is stored in a cabinet that I can easily reach. The third group is in a high cabinet that requires a step stool (or a very tall son) to reach.
  15. Toaster. I love to eat toast and waffles any time of the day or night.
  16. Coffee maker, toaster, mixer, microwave are the ones I use the most- I do have others, but only use them occasionally.

  19. Toaster has never left my kitchen. Electric mixer is also a regular with me. As for "tools," I still use the Veg-O-Matic and Chop-O-Matic, thanks to Ron Popeil! (Billy Mays, eat your heart out!) Have a Seasoned day.
  20. I would say my toaster and microwave are my most used small appliances.
