Which Kitchen Aid attachment (paddle or whisk) do you use to make pie dough? According to the directions that came with my Kitchen Aid mixer, I should use the flat paddle to make my pie dough. However, I have also read that the wire whisk cuts the shortening into the flour better. I have always made my pie dough by hand, cutting the shortening into the flour with a pastry blender. But I want to try it with my mixer. Which attachment do you use? Do you reccommend the mixer over the old fashion method?

How long does it really take to knead Whole Wheat dough in a Kitchen Aid mixer? It seems to take an awful long time for my kitchen aid to mix whole wheat dough properly. The manual says its just a couple of minutes, but I knead for like 20, and the dough still is barely pliable. I don't want to add too much flour, too early, because I know that whole wheat breads absorb the flour more slowly. Does anyone make whole wheat breads in their kitch aid , and if so, what are your tips for getting the dough to the proper stage. for rising?

are the kitchen aid food grinder attachments good enough to grind 200 lbs of venison every year? Other ideas? We "need" a new meat grinder because my husband doesn't like his home built model anymore even tho I told him to buy a bigger motor. We currently have a 1/3 horsepower motor on the thing. So he wants a new one. We usually process about 200 lbs of venison in one day after butchering deer. Is this way too much for a kitchen aid? does this happen with your kitchen aid coffee pot? we have a kitchen aid coffee pot that is fairly new. when we make a pot of coffee it leaks from the hot plate. i was just wondering if any one had any input on this. it doesn't matter if you use the 4 cup setting or make 12 cups. it ends up all over the counter.

We have some Kitchen Aid silicon bake ware. Are the other brands just as good? My wife has several of the Kitchen Aid silicon bakeware products and she swears by them. While at Target today I noticed several other brands that looked to be the same thing that were much cheaper. Anybody ever bought the cheaper stuff and are they just as good? I mean they felt the same and everthing. The Kitchen Aid six muffin "tin" was like $12.99 the other brand was $7.99. Hey, five bucks is five bucks.

Why does my US bought Kitchen Aid Javastudio coffee maker not work in the UK? The Coffee Maker was bought in the USA but I live in the UK. I am plugging it into the mains via a step down adaptor and the power gets into the coffee maker and the clock timer works but when it comes to the making of the coffee the Kitchen Aid machine resets itself and won't actually heat up and the motor won't work. Does anyone have anu ideas on what is happening and anything i could do to make it work? Many thanks euan

Kitchen Aid Marshmallow Rolled Fondant Recipe? I've enrolled in the Wilton's Course 3 cake decorating course and we're supposed to bring a batch of rolled fondant to the first class. I COULD buy the Wilton's rolled fondant, but I've heard that it doesn't taste that great. One of the Wilton's instructors told me that homemade marshmallow rolled fondant tastes much better. Does anyone know of a rolling base for a Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer? I use my mixer often enough for it to be a pain to move into the center of the counter so I can use it. The rubber on the bottom is great for allowing the mixer not to move at higher speeds but makes it so that I have to lift it from the back courner of some counter space. It lives under a cabinet that is too low to lift the head of the mixer. I'm looking for some kind of base with wheels or a sliding part that would allow me to set the mixer on it and slide it on some sort of track into the middle of the counter. Does anyone know of something like this or have any creative ideas? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
