Water coming up from floor or leak. We have not used any kitchen appliances or sink. Cannot figure it out.? I have found water on our hard wood floor in our kitchen twice. Both times it rained. But here's the thing, the kitchen is on the top level of a split entry house, so it's not like it's a foundation problem. There is no water stains on the ceilings to indicate a roof leak. It seems as if it's coming from under the hardwood floor. I have not used the sink, dishwasher or any appliances because we have not fully moved into the house. I cannot figure out where it's coming from. The A/C has not been on. The only thing that has been on is the ice maker in the fridge which is about 9 feet from where the puddle of water was found.
Kicthen Appliances used on Good Eats TV Show on Food Network? Hi everyone, i'm hoping you can help me figure out what kitchen appliances are used on the current season of Good Eats with Alton Brown. The appliances all appear to be almost a matte black color somewhat resembling a finish that stainless steel would offer. What small kitchen appliances do you use on a routine basis? today as compared to the ones you used as a child? We had a toaster, percolator, electric mixer, later a crock pot, blender, and much later a microwave. Today, microwave oven, Foreman grill, coffee maker, toaster, crock pot, rice cooker, blender. Rarely use the electric mixer and still use the same one I got for a wedding gift 35 years.
Where do I find Olive Green Small Kitchen Appliances? I am decorating my kitchen with a itiliano/olive garden feel. I want cooking wine, small wine racks, exotic olive oils, lots of earthy tones like olive green, cream, and sand. I want to know some great ideas for my theme. I also wanted all the countertop appliances and such to be olive green b/c that is my base color. Kitchen-Aid used to have a olive green color in their set of hand mixers, blenders, toaster, and microwaves, which is, of course, now that I want it, gone. Where can I find three things: great decorating tips and tricks for the kitchen (theme in mind or general), where can I find olive green appliances (no fridge, stove, or freezers countertop appliances and accessories only), and where can I get theme specific ideas or help? Any help would be so appreciated as I want the kitchen done before we renew our vows :)
What kitchen appliances do you use the most? Which ones do you use the most and the least. I don't know how I managed without a slow-cooker, I use it at least twice a week. My food processor on the other hand has been used about 10 times since I got it 6 years ago!

What is an icon for kitchen appliances? I am designing a logo for a company that sells kitchen appliances. What icon or symbol I can use within a logo that can be associated with kitchen appliance? I'm thinking of outlet or plug but I'm not sure. Please advise. Thanks
Greasy kitchen appliances? My espresso machine, which i have not used in a while has become greasy from being stored in the kitchen, some of my other appliances that are kept in the kitchen become greasy and sticky as well. I tried cleaning them with water and soap but that didn't get rid of the stickyness. i also tried some sort of kitchen cleaner mixed with water but that doesn't seem to have worked much either. What is the best way to clean greasy kitchen appliances? I have no idea what any of you are on about.
Can a landlord install used appliances when new ones were promised? I signed my lease w/o appliances installed yet. I was told new ones were going in, and still have the advertisement that says "New Appliances". Instead I got old dirty ones that clash with my kitchen. I've pointed it out but they have no interest in replacing them. Can they do that?
Why don't they make colored kitchen appliances? I'm talking about major ones like refrig, stove and dishwasher. I know they used to but they stopped? I guess I should have specified colors besides black and white. But I totally agree Granny on stainless. Not only is it fingerprints, but some of us don't want modern style kitchens. I saw one the other day with gorgeous knotty pine cabines and SS appliances. Ugh - it looked ridiculous. A nice shade of green would have complemented them nicely. White would have been fine, too.
Should we register for red kitchen appliances? I love the idea of having a red, black and white kitchen. I think all of the red appliances they offer are very cute, but I'm afraid that I will get tired of them. They don't really leave much room for redecorating further down the road. Should we stick with a more neutral color and just use red accents (towels, curtains, etc)?
What color appliances look better with natural maple kitchen cabinets? I'm remodeling the kitchen and using natural maple cabinets. They are made of maple wood, have no stain, but just a urethane finish. Very light color, but popular. Would black or white appliances look better with these cabinets? I'm selling the house, so I don't want to buy expensive (stainless steel) appliances.
What home appliances besides a microwave oven will significantly suffer from 50Hz vs. 60Hz. differences? I am originally from the USA. We use 110/120-volt appliances, on 60-Hertz (cycles). Most of Europe uses 220-230-volt apppliances. Most also function on 50-Hertz (cycles). Step-up/step-down converters (transformers) can address the change of voltage, whether you are using Euro-built appliances in No. America or vice versa. But, the difference in cycles wears on any appliances using motors. Microwave ovens are nearly EXPECTED to be killed over a period of time. They are particularly succeptible to the difference between 50 Hz. and 60 Hz. I am currently living/working in Germany, and the summer transfer season for the expatriate community is approaching, and households are selling used kitchen and other household appliances. This is a great time to upgrade, but, why invest much money if the appliances will suffer a guaranteed short life, plugged into a transformer? So, my question--in addition to microwave ovens, what other appliances suffer badly from a cycle variance?
Can I use my U.S. kitchen appliances in Britain? I am moving to Britain and will be taking all of my household goods with me. I've already been told that I will have to use step down transformers for things such as computer, radio, TV, etc. Britain uses 220 v 50Hz while U.S. standard is 110v 60Hz. Can I use something like my blender there? I read the transformers will step the voltage down from 220v to 110v, but may or may not change the frquency. Does anyone have advice to offer about using my U.S. kitchen appliances there? Thanks!
How to cook with very limited kitchen appliances? I'm living in a dorm room and I cant have a microwave or any open flames. I can use an electric hot pot but I don't think I could get away with an electric frying pan because the smoke would set off the fire alarms. What are some good things I can cook with just a hot pot? I saw a documentary on prisoners and they were cooking meats by putting them in a plastic bag in boiling water. Can you cook any meat like this?
rusty appliances? is it safe to use kitchen appliances which have rust on them? (can I get tetnis or whatnot?) I have a grater with some rust at the bottom. thanks
has anyone used Sears to remodel their kitchen? I need to remodel my house's kitchen, including new appliances, cabinets, and flooring. I have no idea how to go about finding a reputable kitchen contractor, and I see Sears does remodels. Anyone have experience with them?
Changing Kitchen Appliances From Gas To Electric? Is this difficult to do? I know I'll probably need a 240v outlet. I know there is an unused 240v outlet on the other side of the wall that the oven/range is against. Could we just pull it over and use the wiring rather than re-wiring for a new one? Is this gonna be an easy 'to-do' for my handy man father-in-law? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
